ObjectDropBox

ObjectDropBox is used to upload the contents of a directory to object storage.

Typically, this is used in a workflow where a contributor completes their work on a file and sends the file to a submission directory on an Agent. ObjectDropBox jobs check for changes in the directory, and uploads any new or changed files to object storage.

To create an ObjectDropBox job:

  1. From the Manager navigation menu, select Object Mover > ObjectDropBox.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Set a Job Name
  4. In the Source Specification section, set the Source Agent.
  5. Use the Browse button to select a drop box directory.
  6. In the Destination Specification, select a Target Agent configured for object storage or Flight Gateway.
  7. Select a storage Profile Name and Subfolder if required.
  8. Set your Notification and Logging preferences if required.
  9. Set the Schedule for the job. By default, ObjectDropBox jobs run every five minutes. Setting a longer interval between checks can improve performance.
  10. Click OK.

Once you have created your job, it will run on schedule, when activated by a workflow, or whenever you manually run the job. ObjectDropBox automatically sets a job schedule for every 5 minutes.

Note: Configure storage lifecycle maintenance jobs on your destination storage to automatically delete incomplete multipart transfers to prevent failed uploads from using additional storage.
