Importing and Exporting Portal Member Details

You can import and export portal member information on the Members page in your Operations Administration Console at <yourURL>.mediashuttle.com/admin.

Portal member details must be defined in specific CSV formats for importing and exporting. See Field Values for definitions. All fields are mandatory unless otherwise indicated.

Ensure that your CSV file is saved as ASCII or UTF-8 with no signature/BOM.

Importing Portal Member Details

You can import members to a portal using a CSV file, which can be edited in any spreadsheet application.

CSV format:

csv file import header fields

Download an example CSV template for importing members.

Note: You can import a maximum of 500 members at a time. To upload additional members, create and upload additional CSV files.

When the version:2 field is included as a header in the CSV file, you can set values in the linked folder access and permissions fields. If the version:2 header is left out, all linked folder columns are ignored.

Example with version:2 header included:

Example with version:2 header excluded:

csv import example without version 2

Exporting Portal Member Details

Exporting the member list gives you an overview of the members currently associated with your portal. You can also add portal members and modify existing member properties in the exported CSV file. When you import the CSV file into Media Shuttle, any new members are added to the portal, and changes are applied to the modified members.

Note: You cannot remove a member from a portal using the exported CSV file. Removal can only be done on the Members page.

CSV format:
